About Luke

Born and raised in McLoud, Oklahoma Luke fell in love with the sound of a guitar sustaining. His parents Tim and Michele bought him a cheap acoustic style guitar with plastic strings that he would carry around with him imitating all the great country artists from the 90's. His mom was really into music and had an incredible voice "I remember she would buy cassette tapes of artists such as The Eagles, Richard Marx, and Aerosmith and we would sit on the couch listen to the tapes and CD's she would talk to me about the music and lyrics that I didn't understand". Michele was really into the 70's and 80's artists while his father Tim was into country music loving outlaw country to commercial artists such as Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Alan Jackson and Tracy Byrd. Heavily influenced by his parents' love for music he was destined to fall in love with music in hopes to carve his way into the music world.

Age 13 he got his first real electric guitar that was bought for him as a Christmas present and that's when he started diving into lead playing. Imitating but never matching different styles such as rock tones of Joe Walsh to the country sounds of Keith Urban but finding true love with the bends and bluesy sounds of David Gilmour. The sounds of David Gilmour would set in with Luke and drive him to become the lead player he is today. Along the way he would meet many guitar players but one would teach him about the techniques of lead playing. His name is Chris Wright, he would help Luke with how to smoothly be able to bend up to notes instead of hitting multiple.

Around the age 15 he began to dive into writing original music with the first song he ever wrote called "Because of me". Chris and Luke sat out one weekend to record Luke's first original song and so began his journey on learning how to record tracks and vocals they worked from Friday evening to Sunday morning recording tracks. Luke would continue to write songs in hopes to find one in his soul that would be able to maybe start things rolling into a band.

He would continue to play guitar and practice writing original music; he would try his hand at different jobs at the age of 20 he would join the Law Enforcement world where he would land a job as a patrolman for Meeker, Oklahoma. Luke moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma to a one bedroom apartment where he was picking on guitar and listening to music when he really began to miss home. That's when the moment hit him and he would write a song called "This ol Town" that started his slow movement into a band.

He moved back home and went back to playing campfire parties and front porch picking sessions that is until he would lose everything when tragedy would strike on the 13th of May 2013 when a tornado would take out his house and he would lose every piece of musical equipment he had. A few weeks had gone by and that's when Luke's phone rang and it was a friend telling him they had something for him. Once he made it to the house he was surprised by an Alvarez acoustic guitar that was given to him by some friends by the name of Bobby and Mary Hill. Luke was extremely grateful for the guitar but things were just not right for him mentally so he made his decision to walk away from music and try his hand elsewhere; he dove into working in the family business of Window and Blind cleaning that is until he met his amazing wife Shawna; they began dating in 2013. Shawna and Luke were out on the town one night when Shawna could tell something was different and just missing from Luke's life and that's when she told him maybe it's time for you to maybe pick up a guitar and try again.

In 2015 Luke was approached by an old family friend named Justin Abbott where he was asked to be a lead guitarist in a band called 46 State; this would open the door to meeting numerous musicians at the same time be his first taste of live music. They were focused on the commercial side of music where Luke was happy but it still just wasn't his nitch after a couple years because of creative differences Luke walked away from 46 State. He would continue playing in bars, open mic jams or private parties. He would be invited to play shows by one of his closest friends and one of his biggest inspirations Brent Krueger that kept the fire lit in continuing to write music and find himself when it comes to music.

March 27th 2017 Luke was headed to work when he was scrolling through social media when he found out about a Police Officer who was shot and killed in the line of duty. Luke began calling all his law enforcement friends in hopes they all were safe at home while on the back of his mind the words "Just another day didn't think much of it" kept playing. He found out the police officer who made the ultimate sacrifice was named Justin Terney. Luke decided to write a song for Terney called "Heartbeat Blue" ; he finished the song and sent it to his friend Brent. Brent called Luke around 2 in the morning while he was headed home from a gig and told Luke he needs to find a way to get that song to the family. Luke decided to put the song on Facebook and told people to share it in hopes of finding the family. The very next morning Luke was awakened by a phone call from his mother in law Virginia Fredman telling him he was on news channel 9 for his song that he wrote for Terney. In less than 24 hours the song had gone viral with over 15,000 views and over 1500 shares. "Because of that song it got me in the studio to record my first EP". He recorded at his friend Brent Krueger 224 studios in Blanchard, Oklahoma.

Luke continues to play guitar trying to hone in his sound from the country tone of the telecaster or the creamy smooth sounds of the Les Paul Gibson or the song he writes. In his words "I dream one day to be a songwriter, I can't think of a higher honor in the music world than to have someone else singing your song".
